About Fitzroy Inn Historic Retreat

Accommodation NSW welcomes Fitzroy Inn Historic Retreat in Mittagong, for all your accommodation and travel needs, book your holiday today.

Situated in Mittagong, the heritage listed Fitzroy Inn is one of the oldest surviving Inns in New South Wales. Built in 1836, the Inn was formerly a staging post for transporting convicts to Berrima Gaol. Its dungeons have been preserved, but today, guests stay in the elegant king or queen rooms all with private en suite facilities. Set amidst five acres of manicured gardens, the property has been extensively restored and offers guests a unique haven in the heart of the Southern Highlands, filled with the charm, character and colour. There is a gourmet dining room for residents and outside guests, offering sumptuous menus in keeping with the seasons and fine, five course degustation options with local wines to match. An ideal base from which to explore the beautiful Southern Highlands, play golf, shop antiques, or just relax and recharge. Weddings and conferences are also tailored to suit requirements....

a perfect spot for hiding on weekends, escaping from where you live turn off wifi, walk dogs or 'hunt' ducks the only drawback: too many bats (noisy) and i couldn't sleep for the 2nd night

Had some time to kill before a job in Bowral and noticed the Fitzroy Inn offerred a Menu for cars to be replenished as well as Humans. Arrived there and plugged my Tesla into a healthy free supply of electrons, walked inside and sat down to a extremely reasonably priced continental breakfast. With some reserve i poured myself a cup of "Americana Coffee". The filtered type we Sydney food snobs would normally look past. First sip....that can't be right! That actually tastes very good I thought. Second sip, quickly turned into 2nd cup. I'm always so happy to be positively, pleasantly surprised by some element of a business's offerings. Well done!!

My wife and I chose to stay at the Fitzroy Inn after a friend recommended it. It was even more than we expected. Our room was spacious, comfortable and overlooked the green lawns amongst the landscaped gardens. After strolling the historic grounds we dined at the restaurant. The crackling log fire was romantic, the food delicious and the wine superb. The next morning we were so enchanted that decided to stay another night. By all means bring your camera to snap some unforgettable photos.
